Government Announced Winners of the National Startup Awards 2020

The first edition of the National Startup Awards was released today by Minister of Railways and Commerce & Industry, Piyush Goyal through a virtual felicitation ceremony. The award aims to acknowledge and applaud outstanding startups and ecosystem enablers who have led innovation with positive economic, societal, and environmental impacts.
The award identified startups across 12 sectors and 35 categories that were delivering feasible and scalable solutions to everyday problems.
Women-led startups, startups that have created an impact in rural areas, and are founded in academic campuses were also identified and honored with awards.
Cornext Agri Products, Robotguru Educational Technologies, Aloe E-Cell, BharatPe were among a dozen startups that received the national award. Villgro Innovations Foundation and Brigade Real Estate were awarded a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh each, appreciating the pivotal role played by incubators and accelerators in startups development. The winning startups got an opportunity to pitch their businesses to relevant public authorities and corporate, cash prizes worth 5 lakh rupees, and priority in participation in government-organized events.
The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has formulated an EFC (Expenditure Finance Committee) note on the startup India seed fund scheme with a total proposed corpus of Rs 945 crore to support innovators and entrepreneurs. Startups have played a strategic role in job creation and have offered exceptional solutions amid the pandemic.
